Piano Lessons

Explore your connection to music through the study of the piano.  Discover music, build a strong technical foundation, and learn to express yourself and communicate through your pieces.  Our program strives to empower each student with confidence in their ability, and to celebrate their creativity and individuality, while connecting them to the wider world of music.

Lessons are tailored to the individual interests and learning abilities of every student.  Their well-rounded program builds a musical foundation in: piano technique, rhythm reading, sight playing, ear training, and overall musicality and performance.  Each student progresses through their programs at their own pace.  Group musicianship and performance classes are occasionally scheduled, and offered to students for added enrichment.  Our annual music season includes two studio recitals, where pianists have the opportunity to perform live on stage.  Community participation is highly valued at our studio, and as students gain experience, they can participate in music festivals and performance opportunities at various community events.  Students interested in taking Royal Conservatory Examinations will be prepared to do so as they are ready.  On occasion, Miss Liberty travels to professional recitals at the Royal Conservatory of Music with some of her older students.

All lessons are taught on weekdays by Miss Liberty.  Please select from our programs below for more information.

MYC: Music for Young Children™
Group Music Studio

Liberty Music is a proud host studio to the Music for Young Children™ Program.  MYC™ is a children's group piano program that has been providing quality music education to kids since 1980.  A child's enjoyment and development are central to MYC philosophy, guaranteeing a joyful experience as well as sound musical instruction.
Every semi-private class holds between 2-3 children, ensuring each child receives the attention they require.  Classes are determined by age, so that instruction is focused on their particular stage of development.  In our studio, there are classes available for children between 4-7.  Each class is fun and imaginative, filled with singing, moving and musical stories.  Learn music, explore the piano, and make new friends!  This comprehensive program takes children from their first musical experience, up to the Royal Conservatory of Music's graded piano and theory program.

Piano-Vocal Classes

Piano-vocal classes are a fantastic way to explore singing at the piano, while also learning to play the piano.  These classes be taken in addition to a private piano lesson, or as a stand-alone class integrating both piano and voice study in a one-hour lesson.  Learn vocal basics, sing your favourite songs, and learn to play the piano as you go.  The goal is to build a healthy voice and piano technique, to learn to sing together with a piano accompaniment, and to build toward playing the piano while you sing.  Students of the piano-vocal program have the opportunity to sing duets together, and to join together in our small student ensemble for performances.  Enjoy sharing your music twice a season at our studio recitals.
